The Anunnaki Aya was considered the goddess of dawn and fertility. She was often depicted with wings and horns, and was associated with renewal and creation. Aya was also associated with gold, which was considered a sacred metal in Sumerian culture. Gold was of great value to the Sumerians, not only as a precious metal, but also because of its symbolic properties. It was associated with light, the sun and divinity.
